Everton youngster Josh Chigwada has been called up to England u15s at the age of 13 following a whirlwind summer for the academy youngster.
Chigwada, who plays as an attacking midfielder, was part of the Everton u17s squad that won the Geneva Cup last month. The annual tournament featured some of Europe’s top academy sides including Benfica, Arsenal and Inter Milan.
He stepped up several age groups to help Everton towards victory in the tournament alongside fellow highly rated youngsters including player of the tournament Malik Olayiwala and top scorer Ray Robert.
Chigwada is one of the top prospects in the Everton academy and has also signed a deal to be represented by sportswear giant Adidas this summer.
He was one of three Everton players called up for an England u15 camp this month alongside Will Apter – brother of former academy prospect Matthew – and Francis Boggin.
At just 13, Chigwada is still at least three years away from becoming an Everton scholar but is stepping up within the Everton and England youth systems.
