County Road bar set to open near Bramley Moore Stadium

Stephen Hurrell, May 26, 2025

A County Road bar will open a venue a short walk from Everton’s new stadium at Bramley Moore after securing an empty building on Regent Road.

The owner of Segura, a wine bar on County Road that later became a member’s venue for pre- and post-match drinks, has submitted a planning application for 91-92 Regent Road to turn a building into a four-storey bar.

The application shows plans for bar areas across three floors of the building and an extension to add an extra floor, as well as change of use from offices to a bar for the entire building.

The ground floor was previously a bookmaker, while the first and second floors have been used as office space. The entire building will need to be renovated to convert it into a functioning bar.

If approved it will be a fourth major new venue for fans within a short walk along the north east corner of the stadium. It joins the Terrace, The Blue House and The Old Lady as new bars set to open in the area before the start of the new Premier League season.

The four new bars can be found north of the stadium, meaning they will be accessible to fans arriving from Sandhills Station.

The property was listed for sale in November last year for prices starting from £400,000, with the listing highlighting its proximity to Everton’s new stadium.

The listing for the building said: “From the Regent Road elevation access is provided into the former bookmaker/retail unit requiring refurbishment, with stairs to the upper floors.

“Also on the Regent Road elevation but stretching the entire of its Boundary Street elevation is the former substantial cafe with commercial kitchen and former café area, again requiring works of modernisation.”

Originally a wine bar open to fans before and after the match, Segura has since pivoted to offer pre-match hospitality packages that include food and drink, match tickets, and after-match events including speeches from ex-players. The bar also shows away matches and organises away travel and racing day events.
