Update: Everton has responded to the social media image and said “this is just a test card and not the full menu pricing for the test event.”
Everton fans will be charged more than any other Premier League fan for a pint of beer this season after the club confirmed staggering prices for the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The club is charging more than nearby Anfield and Old Trafford with pints of Budweiser priced at £6.75 and San Miguel breaking the £7 barrier. The club will also charge £8 for a wine and £3.20 for a soft drink after the price list was posted to social media.
The previous most expensive pint in the division could be found at the Emirates, where Budweiser is priced at £6.35.
According to a recent survey, London clubs typically charge more for a match day pint. At Chelsea a pint costs £5.70 and Fulham charge £5.80. Meanwhile, the cheapest pint at Old Trafford is just £3 and Anfield £3.30.
The move will be a shock to Everton fans, who could expect the £4.50 pints sold at Goodison Park to increase in price to fund the new stadium but will be shocked by the huge price hike by owners Friedkin Group.
Everton fans hoping to enjoy the atmosphere before and after the game will now likely head to one of the many new bars opening alongside Regent Road for a cheaper drink, reducing the income the club can expect from fans during a match day.
The news follows confirmation that Everton are now selling one of the most expensive membership packages in the Premier League at £60, which is more than all six of the ‘Sky 6’ sides.
