Everton have confirmed their retained player list for 2025/26 and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is among the ‘free transfer’ players as his Everton career looks to be coming to an end.
Every Premier League club has to submit a retained player list by 9 June listing all of the contracted players still at the club and any released players. A Released player on the list is one who will be leaving the club, while a ‘free transfer’ player is one who is available on a free transfer but may still sign a new contract.
Everton have listed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Michael Keane as ‘free transfer’ players but have confirmed they have not currently offered either player a contract as it stands.
They join Neal Maupay – who Marseille will pay an obligatonal fee before trying to sell the goal-shy striker – Mason Holgate on the released list. Goalkeepers Asmir Begovic, Joao Virginia, Zan Luk-Lubin, and Billy Crellin will also leave the club this summer.
Owen Barker, Jack Butler, Luke Butterfield and Jack Tierney will leave the club without making a first team appearance. Veteran Ashley Young will also leave when his contract expires.
Everton have offered Seamus Coleman, Idrissa Gana Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure contracts according to the document, although Doucoure has already confirmed he has turned down the offer and will be leaving the club.
The list also reveals Northern Ireland u21 goalkeeper Fraser Barnsley has extended his contract with the club, while academy player of the year Isaac Heath has also signed a contract extension.
Callum Bates, the midfielder who has appeared on the first team bench this season, has received an offer from the club to extend his contract. Eli Campbell, who returns from a loan with Ross County, has also been offered a new deal.
Winger Coby Ebere and holding midfielder Jack Patterson have also been offered new contracts, while several u18 scholars have also been offered professional contracts with the club.
They include Welsh defensive duo Luca Davies and Aled Thomas – the latter captained Everton u18s at Bramley Moore in the first test event and has been excellent at u18 and u21 level. Right back George Finney, left back Joshua Van Schoor and goalscoring midfielder Harvey Foster have also been offered deals.
