The Liverpool Senior Cup Final will take place on Tuesday 6 May at Walton Hall Park, the local FA has confirmed.
Everton u23s will play ninth tier Lower Breck FC in the tournament and tickets will be pay on the gate for a 7.30pm kick off. An adult ticket will cost £6 and a children’s ticket will be £4 on the door.
Everton are the team with the most wins in the historic tournament having won it 46 times, ahead of Liverpool’s 41 victories. Played since 1882, the tournament includes all of the professional and non league teams in the area, although Liverpool no longer send a team to compete in the tournament.
Everton have not won it since 2016, when they beat Prescot Cables 3-0 in the final when Ryan Ledson, Courteney Duffus and Leandro Rodriquez all scored to secure the win.
Last year Everton were beaten 4-0 by eventual winners Marine FC but the club secured passage to the final with a 4-1 win over Warrington Rylands in the semi final. Martin Sherif scored twice, while Owen Barker and Jacob Beaument-Clark added the other goals.
Anfield-based Lower Breck will compete in their first ever Senior Cup final. Despite playing in the ninth tier of English football they are a team on the rise after their foundation 13 years ago. They recently won their playoff semi final to set up a final against Padiham, with the winner promoted to the Northern Premier League.
The final will take place at Walton Hall Park, the home of Everton’s women’s team. Everton fans had launched a petition to play the match at Goodison Park in its historic final season but the final was always earmarked for the smaller venue.
