New bar planned for Terry’s Timber ‘Ambrose McGrath’ warehouse at Bramley Moore

Stephen Hurrell, June 15, 2025June 15, 2025

A new venue for Everton fans could open in the ‘Ambrose McGrath’ warehouse on land owned by Terry’s Timber opposite Everton’s new stadium at Bramley Moore.

The warehouse, which is directly behind the ‘Holy Trinity’ marquee development planned by former Jurgen’s Bar owner and local Reform candidate Gary Hincks, is the subject of a new licence application to serve alcohol between 9am and midnight.

The application also askes for permission to host live music, films, plays, dance and even live sport such as boxing and wrestling, hinting that the large warehouse could be a multi-purpose venue.

The Ambrose McGrath warehouse sits on 4-8 Fulton Street, which is behind the proposed marquee on Terrys Timber land. A planning application for the building has not been submitted but latest video from drone expert Barry1878 shows some activity at the site despite the lack of planning permission.

The venue would be the second to be installed at land owned by Terrys Timber, although the controversial 1,500-capacity Holy Trinity marquee has already upset city planners, who have forced development of the site to halt after work began before planning permission was secured.

According to the Liverpool Echo, a council spokesperson said: “Following a site inspection this week by Building Control officers a number of health and safety concerns were raised about the construction of this building.

“Due to the nature of these concerns, and the fact the scheme has no planning permission, the Council has issued a Stop Notice to Mersey View Leisure Ltd.”

The Holy Trinity marquee and the proposed new development in the nearby warehouse are two of several proposed new venues set to serve fans visiting Bramley Moore and the newly-named Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Work is ongoing on The Terrace, The Blue House and The Old Lady in warehouses towards the north east end of the stadium, while The Bramley Moore Pub is already serving fans after applying for a licence to install seating outside and expand the bar area.

Everton have also secured a licence to sell alcohol in the stadium and surrounding fans zone on match days, giving fans more options to drink before and after the match.
