Sir Paul McCartney at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium rumours swirl as club prepares for summer events

Stephen Hurrell, October 30, 2025

Last week a UK event company employee posted an image of a truck outside the Hill Dickinson Stadium and explained they were assessing the stadium for potential future events.

The stadium has successfully secured a licence to hold gigs of up to 55,000 people in the main stadium bowl and there are rumours swirling about several events set to be held at the stadium next summer.

Other Liverpool venues have already announced the first acts including Yungblud at the M&S Arena and My Chemical Romance at Anfield.

While Everton are yet to confirm the first music event at Bramley Moore Dock there are some interesting rumours emerging this week that could hint at the first act to announce an event at the stadium.

Sir Paul McCartney would be a popular opener for Hill Dickinson. The former Beatle is about to tour the US and according to the latest rumours the tour may extend to UK – and that will almost certainly mean a Liverpool date will be included in any tour announcement.

It will potentially follow a new book on his band Wings, as well as a rumoured new album that could launch as early as the end of the year.

The 83-year-old would have no problem selling out a stadium and it would match similar rumours around August that suggested he would be the first to play at Hill Dickinson. Neither Everton or Sir Paul McCartney’s representatives have confirmed or leaked any information about next summer’s concert program.

Everton’s licence application will allow for live music performances every day of the week from 9am to 3am but the club says any live acts would be finished before 11pm. The club would be allowed to hold up to five events each year with up to £2 million going into the club’s coffers for each event.
