The proposed new Dock Wall bar and business hub near Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium has applied for an alcohol licence.
We previously reported on the application for a new cafe and bar on the ground floor of the two-storey warehouse with a business hub in the upper part of the building on 25 Dickson Street. The building currently houses a printing company and a greetings card shop.
The venue will be called The Dock Wall and will be a very short walk from existing venues including the Invisible Wind Factory, Murphy’s Distillery, and Ten Streets Social.
According to the licence application the bar will be allowed to sell alcohol from 9am until midnight every day of the week. If approved, it will be the newest new bar to open along Regent Road for Everton fans to visit.
However, the planning application suggests the bar will actually open from around 5pm until 11pm midweek as part of the printing business will remain and the upper floors – known as Dry Dock – will be a business hub during standard working hours.
The Dock Bar is one of two new venues set to open on Regent Road in the coming months. The Originals Bar, next to The Blue House towards the North of the stadium, is currently being fitted out and is due to open soon. It will join a trio of new bars directly opposite the north corner of the stadium alongside The Terrace and the Blue House.
The Originals Bar is being opened by the team behind the Falcon Pub in Kirkby, which runs match day buses to the game and has long been an Evertonian pub.
The venue was granted a licence back in August with a closing time of midnight agreed. The owners had originally wanted to stay open until 1am but it was met with objections from the council.
