Everton are set to sign Gambian wonderkid Francis Gomez, according to reports by Gambian football expert Fodeh Manneh.
Manneh, who has worked for several media organisations in the country and has broken a number of Gambian football transfers, says Everton have moved to secure the signature of 18-year-old Gomez, who is described as one of the leading talents in the country.
The attacking midfielder has impressed at Sibanor United domestically and was included in a national preliminary squad for the country’s u20 team in July this year. He will join Everton’s u18 team when he arrives, says Manneh. He has since moved to Nigeria, where he has turned out for Supreme Sports.
Short videos of Gomez show a rangey young player who seems to play on the right wing, cutting inside and running with the ball.
