Everton transfer rumours: Every player linked for summer transfer window

Stephen Hurrell, June 15, 2025June 15, 2025

Transfer season is nearly here and it is a big one for Everton.

With just 13 senior players contracted to the club next season and new owners looking to spend some cash, Everton’s summer is going to be extremely busy. The club’s PSR position means most of that business will be done in July but that hasn’t stopped players being linked already.

Over the summer we will keep track of every transfer rumour, starting from most recent to the oldest links. We’ll update as new information becomes available and link back to the original source where possible.

Adama Bojang, 20, Reims

15 June – Gambian journalist Foday Fo, who is reliable when it comes to Everton’s Gambian youngster Francis Gomez, says Everton have joined the race to sign Reims striker Bojang, who scored six goals on loan to Swiss side Grasshoppers Zurich last season.

West Ham have been heavily linked to Bojang but Everton and Brentford have also been linked with a £10m transfer.

Bojang made headlines last year after superb performances at the u20 African Nations and the u20 World Cup scoring six goals across the two tournaments.

Anthony Caci, 27, Mainz

15 June – TeamTalk says Everton and Fulham are battling for the budget signing of Mainz right back Anthony Caci. With a bid of just £8.5m said to be enough to secure the deal, the transfer does make sense. He is an attacking full back who likes to overlap and join in attacking play. He can also cover at left back, which could be a key factor.

Thierno Barry, 23, Villarreal

14 June – Extremely reliable transfer expert Paul Joyce has confirmed Everton are seeking to sign Barry with a fee of around £35m expected to be enough to convince Villareal to sell.

3 June – Paddy Boyland in the Athletic says Everton have placed Villarreal striker Thierno Barry and Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade on their shortlist after missing out on Liam Delap.

Barry has scored 11 goals in 34 matches in La Liga and fits the mould. He is tall and strong, while being excellent with his feet, with good stats around dribbling to match his heading ability. He is the quintessential target man with a good touch and would be ideal for David Moyes system.

Antonio Nusa, 20, RB Leipzig

14 June – CaughtOffside is not the best source but it has thrown Everton’s name into the list of clubs linked with talented attacking midfielder Antonio Nusa. The Norwegian is one of the more highly rated European wingers, but with Arsenal also keen and his main position being left wing, this one looks unlikely.

Fred, 32, Fenerbache

13 June – No, Everton are not going to spend £18m on former Manchester United midfielder Fred despite the bizarre report appearing in Sozcu Spor in Turkey.

Evan Ferguson, 20, Brighton

12 June – The Irish Times says Brighton are keen to sell Evan Ferguson having spent big on Greek striker Charalampos Kostoulas. A highly-rated striker, his development seems to have stalled amid a poor loan at West Ham and a few injuries. It means his previously huge asking price has probably dropped considerably and it seems Everton could opt to take advantage.

However, the Liverpool Echo says that Everton did consider Ferguson in January but are looking elsewhere now.

Christantus Uche, 22, Getafe

10 June – The Daily Post in Nigeria is reporting Everton are interested in attacking midfielder Uche after a stellar breakout season at Getafe, who signed him from the third tier last year.

He’s had an excellent season but with Chelsea and Leeds also linked, a £20m price tag and the fact Everton are quite well stacked in attacking midfield roles, this one seems unlikely.

Ogun Aydin, 24, Fenerbahce

5 June – Turkish publication Sporx says Everton, Ajax and Lazio are interested in Fenerbahce winger Ogun Aydin.

He scored eight goals and delivered seven assists in 30 appearances in all competitions. He is a right-footed winger who can play across the front three. He seems to play in a key area of improvement for Everton but there is only the single report at the moment.

Maxime Esteve, 23, Burnley

3 June – Paddy Boyland, probably Everton’s best journalist at the moment, says the club are interested in Burnley’s Maxime Esteve. The young French defender was part of the club’s exceptional defence in the Championship and he has been praised for his ability on the ball as much as his defensive contribution

There is a catch. As a left footed centre half he would likely be a replacement for Jarrad Branthwaite and the club has been clear he is not for sale. He would also be expensive, while relations between Everton and Burnley are at an all-time low due to Burnley’s ridiculous legal claims over Everton’s PSR breach.

Trai Hume, 23, Sunderland

3 June – Sky Sports suggests Everton and Wolves are battling it out for right back Trai Hume from Sunderland. The Northern Irish international joined the Black Cats from Linfield in 2022 and has impressed as a high energy attacking full back in the Championship.

The deal may be made trickier by the fact Sunderland have been promoted to the Premier League and he has a contract until 2027 with an additional extra year option.

Yves Bissouma, 28, Spurs

3 June – Ben Jacobs of GivemeSport has, shall we say, a scattergun approach to transfer rumours. He says Leeds are after Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma but has also credited Everton.

He says: “Bissouma is aware of this volume of interest, even Everton, I’m told, could come into the mix because they’re going to be losing a couple of midfielders and also looking to strengthen in that area.”

The Mali international would not come cheap and his age profile suggests Everton would probably be forced to look elsewhere.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, 30, Al-Hilal

2 June – Everton’s reported interest in Mitrovic is a paint-by-numbers transfer rumour. An ex-Premier League player who likes a header? He must be on Everton’s radar.

Forget about the reported £300k per week wages and the particularly lazy ‘West Ham are also interested’, the main thing you need to know about this one is that it originated on Talksport – and they have already pivoted to linking him to Manchester United.

Matt O’Riley, 24, Brighton

2 June – Former Celtic midfielder O’Riley suffered an unfortunate injury shortly after signing for Brighton but is now back to full fitness. Sky News has linked Everton with a move for the creative midfielder but there are a few hurdles. The first is that later reports suggest Brighton would be reluctant to sell and the second is that while O’Reilly is a superb player who can pass, score and create from midfield, his one downside is that he not particularly quick.

Everton need pace and that, coupled with a high price, may make this one a little unlikely.

Ben Doak, 20, Liverpool

1 June – More reports (this time Sky Sports) have linked Everton with Doak, with £20-30m being used as a benchmark for the deal.

24 May – While a right winger will be priority for Everton this year, it would still be a shock if Everton bought one from city rivals Liverpool. Ben Jacobs thinks it’s likely and says Everton could pay up to £30m for Ben Doak.

He’s clearly talented and played well for Middlesbrough in the Championship until injury curtailed his season. A full Scottish international, he is a tricky winger with a bit of pace. However, he also has injury issues and that price is a big one for an unproven Premier League player.

Mohammed Diomande, 23, Rangers

1 June – Diomande has been one of Rangers’ stand out players in the previous season and the Daily Express says Everton are now tracking the versatile midfielder.

He can play in central midfielder, behind a striker in a 10 and even at left back. For a team with a limited squad he could be a useful addition. Everton would have to negotiate with former Director of Football Kevin Thelwell to secure the transfer from the Scottish side.

Nick Woltemade, 23, Stuttgart

31 May – Atletico are now firmly in the lead to sign Woltemade, according to Mundo Deportivo.

27 May – Nick Woltemade is widely thought to be on Everton’s radar and CaughtOffside says Everton will battle Arsenal and Bayern for the man who has scored 12 goals this year and broken into the German national team.

Woltemade is a unique striker. Extremely tall, he is excellent on the ball with the ability to beat his man and score goals alongside his obvious attributes as a target man. He would cost around £35m if Everton were serious about the deal.

Tammy Abraham, 27, Roma

29 May – TBR Football and Graeme Bailey are not reliable but they have decided to link Everton to Roma striker Tammy Abraham. He has been on loan at AC Milan and the link is an obvious one given Everton share an owner with Roma.

Abraham has eight goals this year in Serie A and has struggled with injuries, raising questions about whether he is actually an upgrade on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Veljko Milosavljević, 18, Red Star

29 May – Meridian Sport in Serbia has now linked Everton with the talented defender. Celtic have reportedly had a bid rejected but around £8m would be enough to secure his signature, according to the local publication.

5 May – The talented central defender has been linked to Celtic and Everton by Serbian title Kurir. It says “Scouts from English Everton and Scottish Celtic are closely following the games of the youth representative of Serbia. In the last few games of the Superliga, the emissaries of these two clubs watched the performance of the promising Serbian.”

The report describes him as excellent on the ball but physically dominant despite his young age and he’s attracted interest from across Europe.

Liam Delap, 22, Ipswich (Sold to Chelsea)

29 May – Delap has agreed terms with Chelsea.

26 May – More reports Delap has held talks with Everton and ‘likes’ the offer, but is also in talks with Newcastle, Chelsea and United, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

25 April – Scoring 12 goals for a terrible Ipswich side is an impressive return for Delap, who also looks like a physically imposing striker in the style Moyes is sure to love.

The Liverpool Echo says he would be an ideal fit for Everton (25 April) and his £30m release clause will go live on 1 July. However, the Echo also reports others are well ahead of Everton in the race to sign him. Expect a Chelsea or Manchester United move for Delay this summer.

Ngal’ayel Mukau, 20, Lille

25 May – According to AfricaFoot, which specialises in news about African players, Everton are willing to pay £16.8m for Lille midfielder Ngal’ayel Mukau. It says Everton have been sending scouts to watch the Congolese player, who is known for his athleticism and ability to recover the ball through tackles and interceptions.

He’s highly rated and has had plenty of gametime, and given Everton have history of buying Lille midfielders in Amadou Onana, it’s not possible to entirely rule this one out.

Rydnn McGuire, 17, Rangers

21 May – Everton have lost Asmir Begovic, Joao Virginia and u21 goalkeeper Zan-Luk Leban in recent days after their contracts expired. They are now one of the clubs (alongside Arsenal) being linked with 17-year-old Rangers keeper Rydnn McGuire, according to Rangers Report.

He is very highly rated and starred in a penalty shoot out in Rangers’ Glasgow Cup win this year. He signed his first contract in January but a fee of around £1m is being touted.

Sinaly Diomandé, 24, Auxerre

21 May – AfricaFoot says Everton are one of the clubs looking at Auxerre’s Ivory Coast centre back Diomande, who has played 23 times for the Ligue 1 club this season. He is a right-footed defender so ignore Goodison News’ ridiculous ‘Branthwaite replacement’ angle.

Diomande moved from Lyon to Auxerre on a free last summer and interestingly can also play right back. He seems versatile and can play in a back three or back four system. There is no mention of a fee.

Elias Jelert, 21, Galatasaray

20 May – Danish right back Jelert is a Football Manager wonderkid known for his excellent technical and passing ability. Signed by Galatasaray for around £7m last year, sources in Turkey suggest he is now on the radar of Everton.

The good news is he would cost around the same as Galatasaray paid for him. The bad news is that’s because he has failed to impress at the club with his inability to meet the pace of the Turkish league cited as a reason in the report. Loans are also being discussed, according to the report.

Angel Gomes, 24, Lille

20 May – The Liverpool Echo followed up an earlier report by the unreliable GiveMeSport to suggest Everton could be interested in the 24-year-old England international midfielder. It’s a flimsy rumour but the Echo does point out James Garner is his best friend in football and could convince him.

Links to Spurs, Manchester United and West Ham remain and this one seems unlikely given the competition. He announced his departure from Lille this week.

Sean Longstaff, 27, Newcastle

20 May – Football Insider, which is a very poor source, says Everton will offer £12m for Longstaff this summer.

2 May – ChronicleLive says Everton want to spend £10m on the midfielder, who is entering the last year of his Newcastle contract. Newcastle want around £25m for Longstaff and the final price is expected to be somewhere in the middle.

Everton have had a long standing interest in Longstaff and while he won’t excite many fans, he does rank towards the top end of the progressive passes statistics across Europe this season so could be a cheap option to help the team move forward.

Milan Van Ewijk, 24, Coventry

19 May – Coventry right back Van Ewijk joined the club from Heerenveen in 2023 and has become a star performer for Frank Lampard’s side. Described as an energetic, hard-working full back, he is also known for his devastating long throw ins.

Everton and Fulham have both been credited with interest by Football League World after Coventry were knocked out of the Champonship playoffs last week.

Jackson Tchatchoua, 23, Hellas Verona

19 May – Attacking right back Tchatchoua is a Cameroon international and has been linked with Everton sporadically for around 12 months. This time it is Italian publication Cuore Toro stating he would cost as little as £6.7m.

He has two caps for his international side and is a pacey, attacking full back who has done well in Italy. However, Torino are also credited with interest.

Valentin Castellanos, 26, Lazio

18 May – CaughtOffside is not the best source in the world, but the transfer gossip site says Everton are interested in Castellanos.

The Lazio striker has scored ten goals this season and has been involved in Argentina squads. A strong, physical striker with an eye for goal, he famously scored four in a game against Real Madrid while at Girona.

Reports suggest he’d cost a hefty £30m.

Habib Diarra, 21, Strasbourg

17 May – The Liverpol Echo has again lined Everton with a £16m move for the player but has cited interest from other clubs too. French-based journalist Mohamed Toubache is the quoted source.

French newspaper L’Equipe first credited Everton with interest in Diarra last summer and has mentioned Everton again on 22 April, along with Brighton.

He has excelled at Strasbourg, which is part of Chelsea’s group of clubs, and while they are reluctant to sell it seems Strasbourg will need to offload some players this summer, according to the report.

Fees ranging from £19m to £29m have been thrown about for the midfielder, who can play defensively or more advanced in central midfield as well as on the wings. Quick and with excellent technique, he is most likely to feature in a more attacking role.

The Senegalese international has four goals and three assists in 27 games for high-flying Strasbourg.

Jason Knight, 24, Bristol City

14 May – Knight is a transfer that just makes sense. A Championship player who has stood out this season in central midfield, the first rumours arrived after Bristol City were knocked out of the playoff last week.

Knight is a tenacious, all-action midfielder who can play box to box and would add some workrate to Everton’s midfield. He also has an excellent injury record, becoming a regular for Bristol City after his move from Derby in 2023.

The source is TeamTalk, so we’ll wait and see on this one.

Georgios Vagiannidis, 23, Panathinaikos

4 May – Greek right back Vagiannidis is believed to have attracted bids from both Everton and Brighton in recent days, according to Greek Sports Show, Athlitiki Kyriaki.

He has already played in a top league having previously played for Inter and he is described as a an attacking right back with some impressive stats when it comes to progressive passes (7 per game) and progressive carries, although his defensive stats are not as stellar. He would fit the mould of an attacking fullback in the style of Seamus Coleman.

Davinson Sanchez, 28, Galatasaray

4 May – Ex-Spurs defender Sanchez was originally a target for Everton back when he chose the London club instead. Now Sport Witness says Everton have agreed terms with the centre back with a view to making a bid. It seems like a strange one as he would likely want high wages and may not be guaranteed a start.

Tim Kleindienst, 29, Borussia Monchengladbach

3 May – Bild first reported Everton’s interest back in December and a new report emerged last week. It was a stretch in the first place given his age profile and his modest scoring record of 9 goals this season.

It is such a flakey rumour that West Ham, Wolves and a few other obvious ‘competing clubs’ were thrown in, and now the Gladback sporting director has confirmed he is going nowhere.

Dan Neil, 23, Sunderland

2 May – ChronicleLive is now reporting Everton’s interest in Neil with a £10m bid on the way, according to the local newspaper.

29 April – Dan Neil was first linked to Everton three months ago by Mike McGrath of the Telegraph and now Darren Witcoop, writing in the Sunday Mirror, has suggested Everton’s interest is concrete.

Witcoop, who is actually a cricket agent, seems to be a prolific poster of transfer rumours on X so this could just be a rehash of original reports.

Neil does make sense for Everton. He’s young and with just a year left on his contract could be affordable. He’s been impressive for Sunderland where he has demonstrated an excellent passing range, great composure on the ball and the ability to move it forward between the lines. He also loves a long shot.

West Ham have also been credited with interest.

Emanuel Emegha, 22, Strasbourg

30 April – Strasbourg striker Emegha has 14 goals in 26 games in France and has been linked with a few clubs including Chelsea, who are owned by the same group. TBR Football is not the best source, but it says Everton are interested in the pacey striker, who at 6ft 4 is also an imposing presence. He certainly fits the profile and would cost between £20-30m.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, 26, Chelsea

30 April – Dewsbury-Hall is another player who is seemingly constantly linked with Everton. After starring in the Championship with Leicester he has found opportunities limited at Chelsea despite his former manager Enzo Maresca bringing him to the club.

Teamtalk says Everton are weighing up a £30m move. While he plays in a position where Everton are short, that price seems excessive considering his small number of appearances this year.

Gustavo Hamer, 27, Sheffield United

30 April – Hamer, best known for his incredible set piece delivery, ticks a few boxes for Everton. He’s a talented footballer with nine goals in the Championship this year – a place Moyes famously likes to shop. However, a proposed transfer would probably depend on the outcome of the Championship play offs.

Teamtalk says Everton are interested. It’s probably quite unlikely given his age and Sheffield United’s reluctance to sell.

Wilfried Ndidi, 28, Leicester

29 April – As soon as Wilfried Ndidi was revealed to have a £9m release clause after Leicester’s relegation it made sense that the big random wheel of transfer links would quickly land on Everton.

Ben Jacobs of GivemeSport says Everton, Palace, Fulham and a Saudi side are all interested but you can take that with a pinch of salt. Everton could have signed Ndidi last year on a free transfer but his wages were an issue. Competing with a Saudi club will probably not help that situation, while his international status with Nigeria means he would miss part of the season for the African Nations Cup next year.

Richarlison, 27, Spurs

28 April – Richarlison is no stranger to Evertonians and GiveMeSport has an ‘exclusive’ that puts him as Everton’s top target this summer. It believes Everton could pay £40m, which feels like agent shenanigans from the Spurs end of the deal.

Richarlison would be a popular signing for most Evertonians but a loan deal would be more likely. However, as Daniel Levy is famously difficult this is probably one to discard for now.

Victor Kristiansen, 22, Leicester

25 April – Leicester left back Victor Kristiansen was one of the most highly rated young defenders in Europe at one point but things have taken a bit of a turn. A solid loan at an excellent Bologna team last season was promising but he has been awful for Leicester this year with many fans offering to drive him to his next destination.

TeamTalk says Everton are interested in the Danish left back. However, it does not have a stellar record in prediciting Everton transfers so take this with a pinch of salt.

Tariq Lamptey, 24, Brighton

Tariq Lamptey is a quick, direct full back who mostly plays right back but can also play left back. Short in stature, he does not really suit the Moyes model of a defender but he will be available on a free in the summer.

AfricaFoot, which specialises in news about African players, says the Ghanaian international is interesting Everton. In an article from 24 April it also says Ajax are interested.

Lamptey is a talented player but has suffered plenty of injury issues and is shaky defensively, so it’s difficult to see Moyes going for him at this stage.

Moses Simon, 29, Nantes

AfricaFoot has been busy with the Everton rumours in recent weeks. On 22 April it reported that an Everton delegation has watched him at Nantes.

He would cost £12.8m and has decent stats; seven goals in 28 games this season with nine assists to his name. However, is age would be a concern.

File this under ‘unlikely’.

Mika Biereth, 22, Monaco

12 April – Former Arsenal youth striker Biereth has been sensational since signing for Monaco in January with 12 goals in 13 games.

Despite having signed for around £11m months ago, TeamTalk says Everton want to sign him for more than double that figure in the summer. The Liverpool Echo says he is close in style to Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson, which suggests he is a pacey goalscorer.

Merlin Rohl, 22, Freiburg

Sky Sports Germany ‘confirmed’ Everton has concrete interest in Rohl on 10 April this year. The midfielder certainly fits the Moyes profile at 6ft 4 and at just €20M he could be affordable too.

He is only 22 and is described as an exceptionally talented midfielder with the ability to carry the ball up the field effectively. He is also quick and creative, helping to run at defences to unsettle them.

Having previously been linked to Liverpool and Newcastle, there is clearly talent there. However, he has had plenty of injury issues and this season has failed to score in 17 Bundesliga games. He does have two in nine for Germany u21s and has been compared to Leon Goretzka in style.

Tom Fellows, 21, West Brom

West Brom winger Fellows was first linked by former tabloid journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon back in January. Everton are rumoured to be taking that interest into the summer but the most recent link was back in February.

Fellows is one of the most creative players in the Championship this year with 13 assists in 44 matches. He has a superb right foot and his crossing is his strong point. He has also been praised for his defensive work. However, there are questions over his ability to beat a man and goalscoring. He could cost as little as £10m given West Brom’s precarious financial position.
