Sandhills Cafe

Everton fans to get new Bramley Moore drinking option near Sandhills

Stephen Hurrell, April 1, 2025April 1, 2025

Everton fans looking drink before or after matches at the new Bramley Moore Stadium could be able to get one outside the Sandhills station ‘fan zone’.

Sandhills Cafe, the small cafe yards from Sandhills station, has applied for an alcohol licence to serve drink from 8am to 11pm every day of the week, meaning it will be able to serve alcohol to fans on match days.

The licence application has been submitted to Liverpool City Council with representations welcomed until 26 April. If granted the cafe would be able to serve fans heading to and from Sandhills station’s controversial fan zone, where a queueing system has been installed to cope with the influx of match goers.

The greasy spoon-style cafe usually serves affordable breakfast and lunch options and would become the first venue serving alcohol once fans exit Sandhills station on a match day.

Fans will later pass the likes of Royal Crest Hotel on their way from Sandhills to the stadium itself. The Royal Crest is a 17-room hotel with a bar that is currently being refurbished in time for the opening of the stadium.

From the Royal Crest Hotel on the corner of Regent Road, fans will be a short walk from three new bars set to open opposite the new stadium. The Bluehouse is a bierkeller-style bar owned by the Hot Wok and is currently being completed in time for the stadium opening. The Terrace next door features a rooftop with views of the stadium and a new bar provisionally called St Domingo’s is also in the works.

Further down, fans will be able to visit the Holy Trinity marquee in Terry’s Timber yard, and the traditional Bramley Moore pub directly outside the stadium, giving plenty of options for fans walking from Sandhills station once the regeneration of the buildings are complete.
